Cardboard Box Car Racing for Pack Meeting

We had a really fun pack meeting this past Thursday. The boys all made their own cars out of cardboard boxes and they raced around the park. There was a stop after each lap. After completing the task at the stop they could continue running. The first stop was a flat tire (take shoes off, flip socks inside out and put shoes back on). The next was take off the helmet and goggles, comb hair and clean goggles, take a picture, then put goggles and helmet back on. The last was refueling (drink a cup of water).

Amber's broken ankle

This past Sunday night, Brittany's birthday, just before we were expecting the grandparents to arrive, I heard a few bangs on the front door. I opened the door and found Amber lying there in extreme pain. She was so pale and in shock and couldn't tell us what happened, except that her ankle hurt. What we learned later is that she had been reading and decided to escape outside. She decided to go out the window. Her room used to be in the basement and that was easy, but now her room is on the main level and her window is directly above her old window in the basement. She decided to proceed anyway and ended up slipping and fell into the lower window well. She fell about 6 feet. She had an X-ray the next morning and we found out it was broken.
Monday night, the day after she broke her ankle, Tyler made an obstacle course for us to do after our Family Home Evening lesson. Amber took part in it too!

We are on our way to the Doctor to get Amber's leg casted.

Emily and Brittany got Amber flowers!

Grading papers (Amber teaches 5th grade at Eastlake Elementary in Day Break) and enjoying her flowers from Emily and Brittany.

Happy Birthday, Brittany!

Happy 13th birthday, Brittany! For breakfast we had french toast made with Kneader's cinnamon bread and Kneader's syrup! Nanny and Papa Jones and Grandma Nancy and Papa came for dinner and a birthday celebration. It is always fun to have grandparents in our home!

Drill Team Pictures

Soccer!

Soccer started early for Brittany this year. She played in tournaments and practiced all summer long and just started the season back up again. Mike is still co-coaching her team. They were independent last year, but this year they joined Arsenal Soccer Club and are excited about the new possibilities and great training that comes with club soccer.

3 on 3 tournament. Her nickname was "Road Runner" for being so fast!

Her new Arsenal team! Go Arsenal!

Mike is also co-coaching Tyler's team with Phil Lamoreaux. They are excited to play competition soccer.
Tyler is playing goalie a lot this season. He is loving it and very good at it.
