Pine Wood Derby

We had a lot of fun at the Pine Wood Derby tonight.  Tyler and daddy made a good looking car with a lightening bolt on it!

On Thursday, April 19, the whole family went to lunch at Tera Mia.  Then Amber, Mike, Jordan, Ashlee, and I went to Amber's Commencement and Emily took Tyler and Brittany home to continue the baking and setting up for a surprise birthday and graduation party that we had planned for Amber.  

The party was a huge success.  We had pulled pork made by Jordan, rolls, salads, and desserts.  A lot of our extended family was able to make it and a few close friends.

The graduation ceremony was much longer than we thought.  Amber and Kimmie shared a cap and gown.  Amber's walking time was 8:00 and Kimmie's was at 11:00.  Right after Amber's name was called she came out, we took a quick picture and then I ran the cap and gown to Kimmie from the Smith Fieldhouse to the Wilkinson Center and got it to her just in time!  We were a little sad that Amber had to leave her graduation right after her name was called and that she didn't get to wear the gown for her pictures after, but at least we got a few.

SPRING BREAK

Monday:  The kids spent a lot of time playing outside enjoying the warm weather.  They played water baseball, made treasure hunts, and made a mud pit.

Tuesday:  Emily, Brittany, and Tyler went to East Lake Elementary to help Amber with a math Easter egg hunt for her class.  In every egg there was a math problem to solve to get the next clue.  They had a lot of fun and I know Amber appreciated it and her students loved it.  When they got home, they played in the mud pit they had made the day before.

Wednesday:  We hiked up to Battle Creek Falls and had a picnic.

Thursday:  We went to Salt Lake and had lunch with Mike at work in the cafeteria.  After lunch, Tyler hung out with daddy at work and I took Emily and Brittany to the new City Creek Mall.  Thursday night Jordan and Ashlee came to visit.  They will be here until the end of next week when they will head to California for a week.  We are loving having them here.

Friday:  Jordan, Ashlee, Emily, Tyler, Brittany and I went to play black light mini golf at Lehi Trafalga.  Mike came home from work in the early afternoon and we headed to the Anniversary Inn on 5th South in Salt Lake to celebrate our 24th anniversary.

We stayed in the beautiful Cape Cod room.

Saturday morning we hiked around Memory Grove Park.  It was beautiful.

 Saturday:  All the kids went to play laser tag at Trafalga in the morning.  When they got home they made delicious cake balls which we all enjoyed that evening!

Sunday:  Papa and Danica's family came for dinner and Papa made us his new "Papa donuts", spud nuts.  They were so yummy!  Grandma Nancy has been quite sick and wasn't able to come.

We started our Easter weekend off with our annual Easter egg hunt at Nanny and Papa Jones
