California!

Brittany started Junior High today! Emily and Tyler start school tomorrow. Last night we got home from a fun trip to California. We stayed with Sister McDermitt, a sweet neighbor of the Prices. It was nice to have a comfortable place to stay and she seemed to enjoy having company in her home.

We arrived in Temecula, California on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning we went to Newport Beach with the Price family.

Thursday we went to Knott's Berry Farm. The California kids started school this week and so the crowds weren't too bad. We really enjoyed ourselves. If purchased ahead of time, they have an all you can eat lunch buffet for $8. They served corn, beans, bbq chicken, salad, Mrs. Knotts famous berry pies, ice cream and more! It was delicious and such a great price!

Later I really regretted that I did not purchase the splash picture at the end of this ride. Emily HATES to get wet at amusement parks. The only reason she got on the ride is because I had already gone and told her you don't get wet on this ride. (Surprisingly, you really don't) We looked at the picture at the end of the ride and Emily was behind Brittany and had her head inside Brittany's shirt just to insure that she didn't get her head wet!

Friday, we went to the San Diego Zoo. Just Mike, Jordan, Ashlee, Tyler and I went. All of my boys LOVE animals and we had such a good time.

Saturday, was the California reception for Jordan and Ashlee. It was so beautiful!

Papa and Grandma Nancy had everyone over for dinner on Sunday. It was so fun to be with everyone. I was so busy with the wedding the day before that I didn't get visit with everyone.

After dinner all the girls went down stairs and we surprised Connie and Danica with a baby shower.

There was a different melted candy bar in each diaper and you had to guess the candy bar. It looked just like a messy diaper.

Congrats Danica on cute baby Lila born last week and congrats Connie on baby boy to be born soon!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II

Today Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part II came out in theaters. Ashlee, Emily, and Brittany went to the midnight showing with Melissa and Katie. Amber went to the midnight showing with friends in Provo. They all had such great costumes!

Fourth of July

Cheeri's friend flew her into Salt Lake for a few days. We got to spend July 4th with her. Papa came to spend the day with us too. We spent the day visiting and then went to Mutual Dell in American Fork Canyon for a picnic dinner and s'mores.

We ended the day doing fire works with our neighbors.

Tyler started the summer off playing baseball. He was so excited that he hit a few home runs!

This past week, Danica and her boys and Collin and Kyler came and spent the week with us. Collin, Kyler, James, Jarom and Tyler all went to the BYU football camp. They went Monday through Friday, from 8:30 - 4:00. They worked them hard and it was hot this week, but they enjoyed it and the time they got to spend together!

On Monday, Papa and Grandma Nancy came for Family Home Evening. Papa gave us a great lesson about Parley P Pratt on his mission. After the lesson, papa pulled out candy bars and we all played the candy bar game. Grandma Nancy brought cupcakes and made a cute caterpillar. We love having our extended family around!

Cub Scout Day Camp

I had the privilege to go to Jeremiah Johnson day camp in Spanish Fork Canyon with Tyler and the other cub scouts today. The boys all loved it. They had so many fun activities for them. It was cold and we weren't quite prepared for the weather. Just as the boys were entering their last rotation to the boats, it started to rain, so everyone took cover. When they rain calmed to a drizzle they let the boys on the boats to have a short turn with the boats. As soon as the boats were in the middle of the lake, it started pouring again. The boys were soaked, but had fun.

Tyler's boat won every race! Most of the boys just kept their paper rectangular, but Tyler cut out a curved shape and it payed off. Here is out way out ahead of the other boat he's racing.
