Black eye

Tyler was hitting golf balls with the boys next door.  He somehow hit the ball in a way that it came shooting straight up and struck him in the eye.  It swelled immediately and over the next day or two turned dark purple.

Lettuce wraps

I made Chinese lettuce wraps for dinner.  I asked the kids to set the table. When they saw what we were having, they really wanted to eat on the floor like the Chinese do.  Before I knew it, our table was moved out of the kitchen and we had a nice table setting with candles on the floor.

Emily's Drill Team Perfomances

At the end of the year we are sad to see some of these girls leave and all these wonderful routines come to an end, but we are anticipating a great next year.  Lone Peak has a fantastic Drill team.  Go Chevaliers!

Congratulations girls!  Great job.

New York!

The first week of March, the drill team went to nationals in New York.  They had a great time taking dance classes from professional dancers, sight seeing, and going to see "Wicked" on Broadway.  Amber went as a chaperon.  They both had a great time.

Emily and Amber are ready for their red eye flight.
Look at the different sizes of their bags!

Ferry ride to.... Staten Island? In an attempt to get to the statue of Liberty,
the girls accidentally boarded a Ferry taking them to Staten Island making for an hour delay.
They did get to go to the Statue of Liberty once they go back from Staten Island.

The travel agent messed up and got them Wicked tickets for Friday night, but their detailed itinerary had them down going on Saturday.  It was so disappointing.  They went anyway on Saturday with Friday night tickets to see if they could still get in.  The manager allowed 14 of them in to sit on a stairway.  A few girls said they had seen it just recently and let the others go.  The drill coach asked Amber to go so that there was still a chaperon with them.  Amber and Emily said that even though they were on the floor, they had great seats and had a wall to lean against.  The travel agency refunded all their money for the tickets.

BYU Vocal Point

Ashlee and Jordan came to visit for the weekend a couple of weeks ago.  It was so fun to have them for a few days.  We went to the Conference Center in Salt Lake to see Vocal Point perform.  Vocal Point is a group of BYU students who sing and do percussion sounds with their voices.  They were amazing.
